We really enjoy December, working hard to finish the year well in the office, but knowing we have public holidays around the corner. A time to reconnect, relax and make great memories with family and friends.

Jones Insurance Consultants – 2024 update

Firstly I would like to acknowledge we lost a few good clients this year, its such a tough time for everyone involved, but it’s a privilege to be able to assist families when times are tough and hopefully make claim time as seamless as we can. We are thinking of you all.

March 24 – One year in from the commencement of new government regulation for Financial Advisers. Great to finally be here to better protect consumers. We have more forms to be signed, information to be shared & reports to complete. Our clients’ best interests being the #1 focus. Thank you for understanding regulations and signing the necessary forms when needed. Our systems are improving all the time.

March 24 – MDRT – focus group – international committee meeting in Chicago for Paula. Lots of great learning and research to help new advisers coming into the financial services industry.

June 24 – Vancouver – MDRT annual meeting – Loved every minute! A very worthwhile event for me to keep in touch with top insurance & financial advisers from NZ, Australia and the rest of the world. Definitely worth the investment, I’m planning to go to the annual meeting in Miami, Florida in June 2024 to continue learning from the best.

September 24 – Named as the South Island Chair for MDRT New Zealand, this is a great way to connect with industry leaders and assist NZ financial advisers to help each other and our clients.

December 24 – Our risk insurance market has become more competitive this year than I have seen before. This is a good sign for our clients, as policy wording is upgraded, and insurance companies continue to find ways to help New Zealanders with their health and wellbeing along the way.

Overall note for 2024
Jayne –
Nearly two years completed for Jayne, our administration manager, she is an asset to our team and is available to assist you with everything admin. Jayne has just started her level 5 Financial advice training and is planning to have her qualification completed within the next 2 years.

Premium increases – Please reach out if you are concerned about your premiums- I am very happy to chat and work out your best options to save on premiums. we have been assisting many clients to keep their insurance protection plans in place, still keeping within their budget, it has helped having a little relief with mortgage interest rates decreasing.

Claims 2024
We once again managed some big claims. We have processed approximately $1m in claims this year through our office. These are just the ones we know of, with most medical claims able to be completed directly online with the insurance companies now, so we don’t see all the results for our clients. It has been nice to have large claims easily processed and straight into our client’s bank accounts quickly.

I’m proud to be in an industry that contributes huge dollars into our economy every day.
