Keeping in Touch – January 2021

Business Newsletter

Here we are again a new year promising to be better than our last year.  See our “Thinking out loud” section later through the newsletter for a great quote.

So yes, it will be better, but it will take us to change something, to take that extra step to grow our business. Take time this month think about what you will change and go for it! You only live once….

In this issue we’ll be looking at:

  • ACC Cover Plus Extra

  • Ownership Buyout Cover

  • Bowel Cancer

Enjoy your day,
Paula Jones

ACC Cover Plus Extra:

ACC cover plus extra – if you now pay yourself a wage/salary and are paying PAYE then your Cover Plus Extra will not work, your ACC will go back to standard ACC claim. Make sure you have your ACC set up correctly as it may cost you in your time on need.

Ownership Buyout Cover:

Ownership buyout cover is designed to fund the buy-sell agreement commitments of the business for an employee owner whose Total Long-Term Disability, Total and Permanent Disability, Terminal Illness or death would trigger the buy-sell agreement. Ownership Buyout Cover is not available to sole traders.

Bowel Cancer:

Source: NIB

More than 350 people under the age of 50 are diagnosed with Bowel Cancer annually and for some the diagnosis comes too late for treatment.

Symptoms include bleeding from the bottom or seeing blood in the toilet after a bowel motion, change of bowel motions over several weeks without returning to normal, persistent or periodic severe pain in the abdomen, a lump or a mass in the abdomen, tiredness and loss of weight for no particular reason and anaemia.

The best way to beat Bowel Caner is early detection. With Private Health Insurance will allow you to get tested straight away, when displaying symptoms as opposed to waiting on the Public System.
