I tried to be organised this Christmas… but my credit card and my calendar have filed for stress leave.
My note to myself and to you this December, is this:
Take one day at a time. Have gratitude for the life you have. Be kind to those around you.
Do you really need to feel so stressed?
Pause for a moment… breathe… and smile.
and the “busy buzz” feeling might go away !
On the insurance note….

Here are five meaningful, personal, under-$10 NZD ways to show you care for family and friends at Christmas – each designed to be individual, heartfelt, and memorable:
1. Write a Personal “Why You Matter to Me” Letter
Cost: $0-$3
Write a one-page letter telling them what you appreciate about them, a favourite memory, or the impact they’ve had on your life this year.
Present it in an envelope or tie with ribbon – people treasure handwritten notes more than gifts.
2. Make a Custom “Favourites” Treat Bag
Cost: $5-$10
Buy one or two small items you know they specifically love – e.g., their favourite chocolate bar, tea bag blend, hot chocolate sachet, or lollies.
Add a handwritten tag like: “A few of your favourites to make you smile this Christmas.”
3. Create a Mini “Memory Photo” Gift
Cost: $0.20-$1 per print
Print a photo of a special moment you shared (Warehouse Stationery and Kmart prints are cheap).
Write a message on the back: “This day meant a lot to me.”
Optional: Add a $2 frame or simply place in a card.
4. Gift a Personal Coupon or Voucher
Cost: Free
Make a little card with something thoughtful, like:
“Coffee catch-up on me in January”
“One hour of help with a job you’ve been putting off”
“A walk + talk date – my shout for ice cream”
People value time and connection more than things.
5. Create a Mini “Care Kit” Based on Their Personality
Cost: $5-$10
Examples: Relaxation kit: tea bag, candle, mini chocolate.
Summer kit: sunscreen sachet, lip balm, mints.
Self-care kit: face mask, herbal tea, affirmation card.
Add a note: “A few things chosen just for you.”
